Caesarean section

PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH

Caesarean section

What is a Caesarean Section? Caesarean section is the delivery of a baby through a surgical incision outside the uterus. This method is preferred when natural birth is risky or unsuitable for the mother or baby.

Justifications for Caesarean Section:

  1. Risks of Natural Childbirth: In some cases, normal delivery is risky for the mother or baby.
  2. Baby Status: The position, size or health condition of the baby can make normal delivery difficult.
  3. Maternal Health: The health condition of the expectant mother, previous surgical interventions or medical conditions may require a caesarean section.

The Process of Caesarean Birth: A caesarean section is usually planned or emergency. A cesarean section is a surgical operation, usually performed under spinal or epidural anesthesia. The baby is taken out of the uterus through a surgical incision.

Care After Cesarean Delivery: After a caesarean section, special attention is paid to the health of the mother and baby. The mother's recovery process and the baby's care are carefully monitored. Maternal pain management and wound care are important.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Caesarean Section:

  • Advantages A controlled birth process reduces certain risks and in some cases can be life-saving.
  • Disadvantages: Since it is a surgical intervention, the recovery period may be longer and certain complications may occur.
