Where are genital warts seen on the body?
Genital warts are not limited to one area, but can occur in different parts of the body. The most common areas are as follows:
- Inside and around the vagina
- Cervix
- Around and inside the anus
- Areas with hair
- Small and large lips (in women)
These areas of spread can sometimes make warts difficult to recognize. Regular gynecological check-ups are therefore of great importance.
What do genital warts look like?
The appearance of genital warts can vary from person to person. But they are usually described as follows:
- Cauliflower View: Clustered, cauliflower-like projections.
- Size and Shape: Average between 2-8 mm, usually smaller than 1 cm.
- Plaque View: Flat, plaque-like lesions.
- Clustering: It can happen individually, or it can be combined and spread over larger areas.
These different appearances can sometimes make warts difficult to diagnose.
