PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH
Risky Pregnancy Follow-up
What is a Risky Pregnancy? A high-risk pregnancy differs from a normal pregnancy due to a number of factors that threaten the health of the mother or baby. These factors include age, medical history, pre-pregnancy conditions and other health conditions.
Risky Pregnancy Factors:
- Age Factors: Teenage or older pregnancies.
- Medical History: Complications from previous pregnancies or pre-pregnancy health problems.
- Pregnancy Complications: Pregnancy-related complications such as hypertension, diabetes, pre-eclampsia.
- Multiple Pregnancies: Pregnancies carrying twins, triplets or more.
Stages of Risky Pregnancy Follow-up:
- Priority Assessment: The expectant mother's medical history, age, pre-pregnancy conditions and other risk factors are assessed.
- Regular Checkups: Regular medical check-ups are important in high-risk pregnancies. Blood tests, ultrasonography and other medical tests are used to monitor the health of mother and baby.
- Special Care Plan: Since every high-risk pregnancy is different, a special care plan is developed. This plan aims to protect the health of mother and baby.
Intervention and Treatment in Risky Pregnancies:
- Advanced medical treatments, medicines and, if necessary, surgical interventions can be used in high-risk pregnancies.
- It is important for the expectant mother to rest, eat well and reduce stress levels.
- Be prepared for emergencies.
